Week of March 26-30


In the rear-view mirror…

Many thanks to all the parents who took time to drive us to curling and help with our lessons. We are incredibly proud of our students for their terrific spirit and the amazing learning that took place! It was a very positive and fun experience for all! Parents, if your student took a great liking to the sport and would like to participate next year, please check in at the curling club in August or September to register for the junior program! It is very inexpensive and lots of fun!

Sneak Peek at the Week:


We are learning vocabulary related to Easter this week! We will practice our new learning with a fun game on Thursday!


Wow! I continue to be impressed with the level of commitment students are giving to learning how to do division. Way to go, crew! Many students are experiencing the highest level of success and are ready to take on challenging long division while others are just beginning to catch on now. Keep practicing at home too, the fog will continue to clear, we are wrapping up soon!

Language Arts:

We wrapped up our novel study of Underground to Canada last week! What an excellent shared reading experience!

To finish our Civil Rights theme this week we will take a look at a few readers’ theatre pieces!

We will also be finishing up our 4th word work lesson with an assessment on Thursday. Study, study!

Social Studies:

We will be reviewing our notes on the Canadian Shield and trying a Kahoot! in preparation for a final assessment on the Canadian Shield on Thursday.

Wow! This is the last week before the Easter Break. Now that we seem to have recovered from the time change, we are hoping to stay on track with good sleep and nutrition habits so that we are at our best for our learning before and after the break!
